Conservatory Blinds - EnergySaver Fabrics
This unique range of thermal fabrics provide all year temperature and light control. Both Energy Saver and Reflektions are high performance fabrics that are particularly ideal for conservatories. All our EnergySaver conservatory blinds have been independently certified by Oxford Brookes University.
Energy Saver Conservatory Blind Fabric
Energy Saver is a unique laminated material that incorporates a highly reflective aluminised film that was developed from the space programme. The film was originally used on the Apollo Lunar Module and helped protect the astronauts by reflecting solar heat whilst insulating the craft from the cold of space itself. Energy Saver works all-year-round, helping to keep the room cool in summer and warm in winter.
- Opaque - Maximum Protection
- Maximum winter insulation
- Maximum solar reflection
- Resistant to condensation, insect stings and stains, etc
- Fully co-ordinated range of Roller and Pleated fabrics

Reflektions Conservatory Blind Fabric
Reflektions is a translucent fabric used for conservatories that features a special coating that provides high levels of control over solar heat and glare.
- Translucent - Light filtering
- Controls solar heat and glare
- Provides privacy
- Resistant to condensation, insect stings and stains, etc
- Fully co-ordinated range of Roller and Pleated fabrics
Table of Comparison for Solar Energy
When solar energy meets glass, portions of it are reflected (R), absorbed (A) or transmitted (T) - giving you the RAT equation
| Energy Saver | Reflektions | |
| Solar Heat Reflection (R) | 68% | 65% |
| Solar Heat Transmission (T) | 0% | 29% |
| Solar Heat Absorpence (A) | 32% | 6% |
| Shading co-efficient | 0.29 | 0.37 |
| Emissivity (E) | 0.26 | 0.85 |
| Light Fastness | 5-6 | 5-6 |
Tests calculated in accordance with ISO 9050 by Brookes University using single glazed window.
- 1. Shading Co-efficient
This is a figure between 0 and 1 that allows you to compare the efficiency of a fabric to keep the room cool. The lower the figure the better. - 2. Emissivity
A figure between 0 and 1 that allows you to compare the efficiency of a fabric to keep the room warm. The lower the figure the better. - 3. Light Fastness
The light fastness of a colour or pigment is how permanent it is, or how unaffected by light it is. In the UK the scale is from 1 - 8 with 8 being the most permanent
