5 Tips For A Better Night’s Sleep Every Night

When it comes to the end of a busy day and it’s time to relax and unwind, most of us feel tired and deflated, ready for bed. However, for many, getting a good night’s sleep every night doesn’t come easy. Here’s a few top tips for a better night’s sleep every night:

Avoiding Naps

It can be tempting to nap during the day if you’re feeling particularly run down or sluggish, but in fact this can affect the quality of your sleep when it comes to the evening. If you feel like you need a rest then relax your body in other ways, for example reading a book or taking a long bath. This way you will still feel like your body has had the rest it needs, without jeopardising your sleep during the night.

Lavender Drops

Lavender is a proven natural remedy that helps to relax the mind and body. Using a few concentrated Lavender drops on your pillow could help you drift off into a better night’s sleep. Alternatively, you can use a mesh bag with Lavender inside and tuck it underneath your pillow for the same results.

Avoid Caffeine

You don’t need to avoid caffeine all day, just avoid drinking coffee or other caffeinated drinks a few hours before bedtime. Caffeine is a stimulant can keep you awake and feeling restless, and although your body will be tired, you will feel unable to go to sleep.

Blackout Blinds

Installing blackout blinds or roller blinds can make a tremendous difference if you get a lot of light in your room which makes it more difficult to sleep. Sleeping in a darkened room is paramount for most of us, so installing blinds where you can control the light can have a positive effect on your sleep habits for a better night’s sleep.

Don’t Watch TV

It’s advised not to watch a screen before bed, whether that’s a television or other electronical device. This is because it stimulates your brain, and you’ll find it more difficult to wind down. The light from a TV also supresses melatonin, the hormone that signals sleep.
